Something special from November's Card Kit

I love the pre-cut cards and matching envelopes that come in the Card Kits each month! Here is just one example of a combination you might see.
Using a minimum of product from the Nov kit, I was able to turn this into a special Christmas wish for someone I love this season. TFL!

Photo Shoot Mini album

Are you ready for some Christmas projects???
Part of one of the I Am A Scrapaholic's kits for November is an accordian style album by Melissa Frances. It comes with a kraft colored paper ready for you to paint or cover with paper or just leave as it is.
I wanted my photos to really shine in my little album, so I left the album as it came and printed my photos out 4" x 6" and then trimmed them a little bit so that some of my patterned paper would show.

I loved the SEI papers that came in this month's kit because they are not loud and busy prints making them the perfect backdrop to my album and my photos.

The snowflake is chipboard and is part of the kit. I covered that with a good coat of Stickles. I love that stuff because you get lots of bling without loose glitter ending up all over the place. You can also see the rhinestone word by Kaiser Craft that is part of the kit. It wasn't going to show off real well against my patterned paper so I just put a swipe of white paint on the paper first and that created the perfect backdrop to my word.

Thank you for visiting the I Am A Scrapaholic blog, Linda

Acrylic Mini Ornaments

I love to play around with items and make little things. When I saw the acrylic tags in the November kit I knew just what I wanted to make. During the holiday season I put out 3 trees. One...which is my miniture tree...sits in my scraproom so why not make some mini ornaments :)

First I took some scraps from the kit in various patterns.

Then, using diamond glaze, I adhered the acrylic tags to the patterned paper. Making sure to move it around so that the glaze can get all over the tag. This way the paper sticks better and doesn't tend to peal up at the corners. Once it has dried I then took my xacto knife and went around the edges cutting off the excess paper.

Aren't they cute :) But for added effect...I added some of the chipboard from the kit. Punch the hole thru the paper and just use a ribbon or an ornament hook to hang it in your tree.

November Visiting Therapist challenge!

Our fabulous visiting therapist, Mimi Leinbach, has issued a fun challenge for us this month. Check it out and if you take the challenge, post it in our gallery - we'd love to see what you come up with. Thanks Mimi!!

Paper piecing seems to have made a comeback recently and I had
to jump on the bandwagon using the November Kit this month! I
absolutely love the papers in this kit and thought they would
make some adorable Christmas trees for any card or layout. They
are so simple and with a few scrap of paper and a little ink just
look great.

So here is your mission if you choose to accept it: Create a card,
LO or any project using the November Kit and paper piecing. It
can be as simple or elaborate as you would like, add a little
ink and if you use scraps kudo's to you for recycling!
Happy Scrapping!

First November sketch from the DT

This month we picked a sketch from Anna Bowkis at Pencil Lines to inspire our DT and members. I LOVE the embellishment cluster on the focal point, and was inspired by how each DT member applied this to their interpretation of the sketch.
Take this sketch challenge and upload it to our gallery!

Quick and Easy cards from Scraps

I loved the papers in this months kit so much that I wanted to use every scrap! I made these "glittery" christmas cards in about 10 minutes using just scraps of paper, the Chipboard from the kit and a couple of rub ons. Add some stickles and you have yourself some beautiful, quick and super easy cards.

Karen Foster Countdown Calendar

Oh My GOSH! I can't tell you how fun this project was to make!
I decided to create a winter scene on the front of my countdown calendar. These chipboard trees are the cutest winter embellishment I've seen in a while!
I used stickles to create "snow" on my trees.

Side View

Since I created a scene on my calendar, some of my "mountain" made it impossible to open the middle drawers. Simple solution - I connected the kits' Tim Holtz Charm Fragments with jewelry fasteners to these drawers. (This is my favorite part!)

November 08

This year, I decided to have a Christmas themed kit in November so people would have plenty of time to make Christmas cards and alter the Karen Foster Designs Countdown Calendar that is in one of the Little Pill kits. I made sure that there were enough non-theme specific items for other layouts. The patterns and colors of the SEI Alpine Frost line are perfect for this time of year. You can make fall or outdoor layouts with them and you can make Christmas LOs.
~
This month we have two new companies that we haven't had yet. My Little Yellow Bicycle and Kaiser Crafts. I hope to have more from them in upcoming months as the quality and value of their products is great.
~
I can't wait to see what you do with your kit, so please remember to post your work in the gallery.
